A single dose hopper for a grinder already built for it
We should be straight about this one. The Mazzer ZM is designed for single dosing from the outset: 83 mm flat steel burrs mounted vertically directly over the exit chute, a 900 W motor turning them at a deliberately low 900 rpm, belt drive and a twin-fan system to keep motor heat out of the grinding chamber, and a published retention figure of under 0.45 g. Grind adjustment is motorised and digital, in microns, with electronic True Zero calibration.
So this hopper is not here to fix a retention problem on your ZM. You do not have much of one.
What it is for
It is a workflow part. It replaces the bulk bean hopper with something sized for one dose, so you can weigh beans in individually, switch coffee without emptying and refilling, and stop leaving beans sitting in a hopper between sessions. The silicone bellows gives you a way to push through the small amount that does stay behind, particularly when you are moving between very different roasts and want the chamber clear.
If you bought the ZM specifically to single dose, this is the hopper that matches how you are using it.
Version 3
Every unit we ship today is Version 3. The bellows is a custom branded, factory moulded silicone part — it is no longer 3D printed, as our earlier versions were.
