The EK43 runs 98 mm cast steel burrs mounted vertically, driven by a 1300 W motor. That vertical mounting is part of why the grinder became a fixture in specialty coffee and competition: grounds fall clear rather than settling on a flat, horizontal burr face, so it single doses better than most grinders its size.
The stock hopper, though, holds around 1200 g. If you are grinding 20 g at a time for filter, or moving between roasts on a cupping table, that capacity works against you. This blow-out hopper replaces it, letting you load one weighed dose at a time.
Clearing what the EK43 still holds back
Vertical burrs reduce retention but do not remove it. Grounds still gather in the chamber and the throat on the way out. A press of the silicone bellows after each grind pushes that material through, which matters most when you are switching coffees and do not want the last one turning up in the cup.
Version 3
Every unit we ship today is Version 3. The bellows is a custom branded, factory moulded silicone part — it is no longer 3D printed, as our earlier versions were.
How it is made
3D printed: lid, lid lock ring, connector, air-leak prevention gasket
This hopper is made for the grinder named on this page. Fit tolerances vary between units and production runs, so minor adjustment may be needed to seat it perfectly on your grinder. Every unit is covered by our 2 year warranty.
