The M2 series is Macap’s compact on-demand line, running 50 mm flat burrs. The M2M carries a bean hopper of around 250 g — small by commercial standards, which is part of why these grinders turn up so often in home setups and small bars rather than high-volume cafes.
A 250 g hopper is still roughly a dozen doses sitting above the burrs going stale, and it still has to be emptied every time you change beans.
What the bellows is for
This hopper replaces the stock one so you can weigh in a single dose at a time. After grinding, pressing the silicone bellows pushes grounds out of the burr chamber and chute rather than leaving them to carry into the next dose. On a 50 mm grinder the retained volume is modest, but so is an 18 g dose — a gram of yesterday’s coffee is a larger share of a small dose than a big one.
Version 3
Every unit we ship today is Version 3. The bellows is a custom branded, factory moulded silicone part — it is no longer 3D printed, as our earlier versions were.
How it is made
3D printed: lid, lid lock ring, connector, air-leak prevention gasket
This hopper is made for the grinder named on this page. Fit tolerances vary between units and production runs, so minor adjustment may be needed to seat it perfectly on your grinder. Every unit is covered by our 2 year warranty.
