Description
Single dosing on the Baratza Forte
The Forte is Baratza’s commercial-grade flat burr grinder, built around 54 mm burrs made by Etzinger in Liechtenstein — ceramic on the Forte AP, steel on the Forte BG. It grinds at roughly 2.6 to 4.0 g per second depending on setting, weighs about 6 kg in a cast zinc body, and carries a 300 g bean hopper with a shutoff collar so the hopper can be lifted off without spilling.
That shutoff collar is a good piece of design and it makes bean changes far less messy than on most grinders. It still leaves you grinding from a hopper rather than from a weighed dose.
From hopper-fed to dose-fed
This hopper replaces the stock 300 g one. You weigh a dose in, grind it, then press the silicone bellows to push grounds out of the burr chamber and exit path. For anyone using a Forte across several coffees — which is much of the point of a grinder that spans espresso and brew — that means no hopper to empty and less of the previous coffee carried into the next dose.

How it is made
- 3D printed: lid, lid lock ring, connector, air-leak prevention gasket
- Factory machine moulded: silicone bellows
Materials
- Lid, lock ring, connector: PETG hard plastic
- Air-leak prevention gasket: TPU — material info

Fitting
This hopper is made for the grinder named on this page. Fit tolerances vary between units and production runs, so minor adjustment may be needed to seat it perfectly on your grinder. Every unit is covered by our 2 year warranty.
