Single dosing on the Ceado E37S
The E37S is an Italian-built commercial grinder: 83 mm flat burrs turning at around 1600 rpm from a 500 W motor, programmable timed grinding, and stepless quick-set adjustment. It stands roughly 21.8 inches tall and weighs about 30 lb, with a bean hopper holding 3.5 lb — around 1.6 kg.
Ceado’s Steady Lock Burr System holds the burrs at a fixed separation so the setting does not drift under use. That is a grinder built to be dialled in once and left alone while it works through a hopper of one coffee.
The opposite workflow
Single dosing asks the grinder to do the reverse: small weighed amounts, changed often. The 1.6 kg hopper is the obstacle — you cannot switch beans without emptying it, and what sits in it stales.
This hopper replaces the stock one so each dose is loaded on its own. After grinding, pressing the silicone bellows pushes retained grounds out of the 83 mm chamber and chute. On a burr set that size there is a lot of internal surface for grounds to rest on, which is exactly why back-to-back doses of different coffees run together without it.
Version 3
Every unit we ship today is Version 3. The bellows is a custom branded, factory moulded silicone part — it is no longer 3D printed, as our earlier versions were.
