Description
Single dosing on the Bentwood Vertical 63
The V63 is a considered piece of engineering: 63 mm steel burrs mounted vertically, a 660 W motor idling around 1400 rpm, stepless adjustment that displays an indication of particle size, and a grind chute fitted with a vibration motor specifically to shake retained coffee loose. It stands 550 mm tall and weighs 21 kg.
Bentwood designed it to work either way — single dosed, or with a full hopper in grind-by-time mode. The vertical burr layout and removable spout already keep retention low, so we are not going to pretend this hopper rescues a grinder with a retention problem.
What it adds
If you run yours in the full-hopper configuration, this replaces that hopper so you can weigh each dose instead. And the silicone bellows gives you an air purge on top of the vibration chute — two different mechanisms for clearing the chamber rather than one.
On a grinder people buy specifically for cupping and single-origin work, where sample three must not carry sample two, having both is the point.

Version 3
Every unit we ship today is Version 3. The bellows is a custom branded, factory moulded silicone part — it is no longer 3D printed, as our earlier versions were.
How it is made
- 3D printed: lid, lid lock ring, connector, air-leak prevention gasket
- Factory machine moulded: silicone bellows
Materials
- Lid, lock ring, connector: PETG hard plastic
- Air-leak prevention gasket: TPU — material info
- Bellows: factory moulded silicone
Fitting
This hopper is made for the grinder named on this page. Fit tolerances vary between units and production runs, so minor adjustment may be needed to seat it perfectly on your grinder. Every unit is covered by our 2 year warranty.
